The Political Communication section of the American Political Science Association advances the study of political communication within the discipline of political science. Our members, numbering nearly 500, engage in research spanning American and comparative political communication, communication in internal relations, the role of media in agenda setting and public opinion, and the role of the Internet in social and political life, among numerous other topics.
For the past nine years, this section has sponsored an annual pre-conference held on the day prior to the opening of the APSA conference. We continue that tradition this year on Wednesday, August 29th. We believe that hosting a pre-conference program at a university venue allows both scholars and students a great opportunity for a small conference setting in the midst of the large, and ever growing, APSA meeting. Louisiana State University is the host for this year's Political Communication Pre-conference.
